All couples who have been married for a number of years should take a second honeymoon, as in the hustle and bustle of today’s world we often don’t make time for one of the main ingredients of a successful marriage; taking time for each other.

It is a great idea to renew your wedding vows before setting off on your second honeymoon. Usually first honeymoons are over-shadowed by the stress of putting the wedding together, nervous anticipation of the wedding night, and the prospect of spending your entire life with that special someone, when second honeymoons offers couples a chance to get to know each other all over again and to enjoy intimate moments without interruption.

Find someone to take care of the kids and leave them at home, as all couples need time alone to enjoy an intimacy that simply is not possible when kids are present.

Plan everything together. In case the ideas of a second honeymoon destination are different, compromise and go somewhere you both will enjoy.

You should renew your vows before the second honeymoon trip with family and friends, or in a private, simple ceremony after you reach your destination. If you have a fancy celebration of visit a Justice of the Peace, you should renew your vows and have a celebration.

Make sure to do at least one thing on your second honeymoon that you wouldn’t otherwise. Stay in a luxurious suite, take a romantic ride in a horse and carriage, rent a limousine, or use your imagination. It will make the moment extra special, whatever you chose.

Do avoid a heavy schedule that you are constantly running from one place to another. Just try to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
